Stories from Our Year
Kids’ Own Publishing 2013 Annual Review
In this review we tell you five stories from the year that represent the core values of our work. Powerful stories of refugees coming to Australia, life-changing experiences for Indigenous children in Victoria and beyond, and projects that are empowering children and families everywhere to continue to tell and publish their own stories. We have published 28 books; each one produced through a multi-workshop process engaging communities and artists. At an average of one every two weeks, this figure demonstrates the growing demand for children’s community publishing. It is a tribute to the strength of the team that we have maintained high quality delivery throughout.
