Kids’ Own Publishing 2014 Annual Review
2013 –14 has been a year of branching out. After establishing strong roots through our publishing work in communities over the past few years, we focussed on spreading our message into the public domain and evaluating the impact of our work.
In early 2014 we past our 100th book published with an ISBN, reaching an estimated 100,000 readers. We celebrated this milestone with an exhibition in the brand new Library at the Dock in the City of Melbourne in May, which was seen by thousands of visitors over four months. An exhibition at St Heliers Street Gallery at our base at the Abbotsford Convent celebrated the achievements of our three-year Recipe for Community partnership. The exhibition encouraged public interaction and was seen by approximately seven thousand plus visitors in May.
The end of May also saw the long awaited launch of our exciting digital publishing tool: WePublish for iPad. With downloads of over 10,000 it has given us reach into 27 countries where it has been featured in best new apps in Apple’s App Store.
With 11 articles and reviews in a range of media outlets, including an interview with Waleed Aly on RN Drive, our message has surely reached several more thousand in the last 12 months.
